Text Box: PARENT/STUDENT TESTIMONIALS:

Do you remember the television show for the 80’s called, “Reading Rainbow?” On this PBS production the host LeVar Burton, would encourage the kids to read books sponsored by the show. LeVar would explain how great and amazing it is to read these books and tried to convince you that you are missing out on something outstanding by not reading. After his convincing sales-pitch, he would always say the no famous catch phrase, “BUT YOU DON’T HAVE TO TAKE MY WORD FOR IT!!!” LeVar then would have kids who have read the books give an account on their experiences and allow the quality of the product speak for itself.

Here you will find what our parents and students say about us!!! “BUT YOU DON’T HAVE TO TAKE MY WORD FOR IT”

I asked my 12 yr. old son what he thought of his first lesson with Mr. Dan.  His response was... "what's not to like, the teacher is great, it's fun, everything was awesome!!"  His 7 year old brother who took the lesson with him said he can't wait until he can really play and thought Mr. Dan was a great teacher.  Both of my boys thought Mr. Dan was a cool guy.  They were really impressed with his guitar playing.  As a Mom I was most impressed with how Mr. Dan held their attention the whole time... no small feat!!  I think my boys will be able to play like pros if they want to!

We had our first lesson with Dan and we are very excited!  My 11 year old son had taken lessons for 9 months through another program.  The lessons were 30 minutes long (by the time he got warmed up and working, the lesson was halfway over), the instructors changed regularly compromising the continuity of the learning process, the curriculum was boring (according to my son), and there was no opportunity for parent involvement given the small size of the 2 person studios.  We were sold a guitar by the shop that offered the lessons and were never educated on the instrument, its capabilities, or its ability to be calibrated for a higher level of performance.

Now we have Dan, who comes to our home.  He spends an hour once a week with my son and his dad.  Now when he practices, we know if he is doing things the right way.  Since neither my husband or I have had any musical training, with the previous program all we could do was encourage our son to practice the recommended amount of time.

Dan is patient, but makes great progress in a short amount of time.  He fosters a true love of learning music.  He takes the time to educate the students on the basics, but shares his talents throughout the lesson to show them what all this practice can yield.  He teaches with a manner that makes the process fun.  Our lesson is on Wednesday evening, and on Monday my son was asking “When is Dan coming back again?”.  He really looks forward to these sessions and practice time is voluntary now rather than mandated like before. Dan is flexible, professional, always follows up and is a great communicator.   Dan is everything you could want in a music instructor and more!

Our son Kyle’s former guitar teacher, encouraged us to hook-up with Dan for lessons for a one-month trial. He told us that if we didn’t like Dan after a month, he would take Kyle back as his student. One month? All it took was one hour and Kyle was hooked.

A thought came to mind when we first met Dan: “Wow! What a gift!” He’s a composition of outstanding musicianship, enthusiasm, commitment, and sincerity. And while all those qualities are certainly tremendous in their own right, Dan completes the package by wrapping it up with a well-organized business approach, ease in relating to all ages, and, most importantly, the teaching skills that inspire active learning.

What are Kyle’s plans for his guitar skills? We don’t know, but we know that by being around Dan, Kyle won’t only be gaining guitar knowledge; he will also be growing in confidence and positive attitude. Oh yeah, and let’s not forget the all-important things for teenagers—coolness and the ability to ROCK! Thanks Dan!

What a great first lesson! Todd wanted to practice when he woke up! (Yes, 8:00 am is TOO early to practice...Mom needs coffee....)

--Linda H.

"Dan is incredible! He has inspired me to work harder on the guitar and improve my technique... and practice more! With Dan's easy-going manner, working with him is a pleasure. As an adult I feel comfortable working with him, but I can see how the kids would love his chops!"

--T. S.

"Dan is a very gifted and skilled guitar teacher who is passionate about teaching guitar. He teaches and plays all musical styles. He can easily mold to your playing needs and teaches all the techniques and tips to get the concept easily. As the name says Dan can make me play like a pro, through his approach and attitude. He can also play Piano and Drums. Towards the end of the lesson he plays some cool pieces which can be played once the lesson we are learning is mastered and that inspires me a lot throughout the week to keep practicing. Over all he is a cool guy."

“I really enjoy the lessons I get from Play Like A Pro!”

--Mike P.

I wanted to learn guitar and My dad found the guitar teacher Dan, I haven’t had any guitar lessons and haven’t even touched a guitar before but my teacher Mr. Dan made my first lesson so interesting that I learned a lot in the first day. He is a wonderful and a very passionate teacher. As an adult I feel very comfortable working with him and my parents are satisfied too because my instructor was telling them how he is going to teach me.

When my new teacher Dan Brown Jr walked through the door with his 15 watt amp, hard-shell guitar case and backpack complete with laptop, I knew my instructor was well prepared and ready for a montage of approaches and learning styles. Splitting the time frame of the lesson between scales and “fun stuff,” I was able to enjoy a vary experience. Dan is able to quickly apply the basics into recognizable tunes or make fun riffs out of them, that makes the tedious learning much more enjoyable!

--Rohan S.

Well, to start off Mr. Dan is a beast at the bass, so I think I will learn a lot from him, and he’s really professional but really cool at the same time. On only my first lesson I learned what like every inch of my bass is and what it does and I’m looking forward to more lessons :]

--Maddie H.

My former guitar teacher told me about Dan and that he would be the guy that would take me to the next level of guitar playing. I was a little nervous about meeting a new teacher but when we got into our first lesson i was blown away. Dan can rock! Seeing how he plays really motivates me to practice more, always trying to improve the way I play, and learning the most efficient way to play a scale or song. I truly believe that Dan is the teacher that can get me from where I am now, as a guitar player, to much further along in the shortest time possible.

I can't tell you how excited I've been about my lessons and learning to play from Play Like A Pro!

--Chris M.

My first impression of Play Like a Pro was excellent.  Dan worked well with my son and made him feel comfortable with an instrument he has never played before.  I have also referred Play Like a Pro's services to 3 other families.

--Denise H.

Great teacher! to say the least. If something is difficult for you to learn then Dan will keep helping you until you get it down. If their is one thing that stands out, its his enthusiasm. No matter what, when your in the middle of a lesson you won't even want to think about anything except guitar.

--Ravi P.

Cool and funny teacher that you can teach you quickly. He can teach you how to rock out and play like a pro for real.

--Yash P.

First of all, Dan, you are such a pleasant person from a parent’s view point.   When I asked my son, Ryan, how it all went with his first lesson, he said, “Dan is so much fun!  He’s just so cool!”   I can’t tell you how great it was to hear him say that.  Not only will he love guitar because of you, but he will actually look forward to his lessons.  You have managed an amazing thing… to get a nine year old boy to love guitar in a single lesson!   And, as you know, Ryan already wants to increase his ½ hour lesson to an hour so, as he said, “I can learn and practice more.”  He also was very proud to tell me that he already knows all the basics.

So thank you so much for making life easier for me and happier for Ryan.  We are so looking forward to our music friendship with Play Like A Pro!

I like guitar lesson from Play Like A Pro because I learn lots of notes and chords so fast!

-- Mitch Watson, 8yrs

Play like a pro is better than I could have ever imagined it, and it has good teachers to prove it. Dan is a nice easy going teacher that is determined to make you do your best and learn everything you can. He never gets upset or gives up on you no matter what. I know for a fact because I was late to the first lesson and I was expecting him to be upset with me but he was completely cool about it. Most teachers wouldn't be like that and that’s why play like a pro is better than the rest.

It was a pleasure to get to know Dan Brown a bit more with my first lesson. I am 68 and he granted me the patience and respect I needed. I was and am most excited about the prospect of learning Guitar and will work very hard. Dan was most professional in his approach and quickly got down to business with the one hour session ending as it seemed to have just begun. I highly recommend Play Like a Pro to anyone of any age and look forward to future lessons.
-- Bill Rauch, Age 68

Our son is having a great time playing the guitar, and getting these lessons. You are doing a great job and we really appreciate it!!!!
